COMSNETS 2013: Call for Demos and Exhibits

COMSNETS 2013 features a "Demos and Exhibits" session designed to allow industry and researchers to showcase their latest industrial applications and research prototypes in all communications and networking related topics. This includes innovative technologies, platforms, analysis tools and applications related to (but not limited to) wireless communications, emerging markets, vehicular communications, network security, cloud privacy and security, and mobile platforms. A list of the demonstrations will be included in the COMSNETS Conference Proceedings, but will not be posted in the IEEE library.

The poster and demo sessions will be co-located over two days to ensure maximum visibility and favor a close interaction between presenters and participants. Additionally, there will be a one-hour slot in the main conference agenda, wherein each Demo will get 5 mins to advertise the key concept of their demo. The purpose of this brief 5 min presentation is only to inspire the audience to drop by their respective demo booths.

Demo proposals are invited for both mature or innovative systems and prototypes developed for commercial use or for research purposes, from industries or universities. The submitted demo proposal should include in a maximum of 2 pages in double column format, the following:
  • Title, authors and contact information.
  • Technical content to be demonstrated.
  • An overview of the demonstration set-up (the inclusion of photographs of the demonstrator are encouraged) and the results that will be shown to attendees.
  • Any URLs that link to screen-shots, live demos, or related information.
  • Equipment or facilities required for the system demonstration (e.g., power supplies, Internet connections, table dimensions, etc).

Accepted demonstrations could be supported by a poster describing the general set-up of the demonstration, its background and technical content to be demonstrated. Demo participants interested to use a poster should clearly indicate it in the proposal while describing the required equipment. Demonstrations will be selected based on their novelty, technical quality, and attractiveness of the demonstrated system. Demonstrations from start-ups and universities are highly encouraged with the possibility of limited financial support from COMSNETS towards the registration fee. We will have approximately 12 - 15 demos (depending space constraints). The demos shall be allocated between COMSNETS Sponsoring-organizations and Non-sponsoring organization.

Demos are complimentary for all sponsoring organizations. For the non-sponsoring organizations, COMSNETS charges Rs. 10,000/- for the two days of Demos if their proposal is accepted for demonstration. Proposals are to be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word or PDF format to Chandramouli ( [email protected] ).
