Due to rising energy costs and environmental concerns, energy has become one of the important concerns for the communities, governments and industries. The E6 (Energy in Communication, Information, and Cyber-physical Systems) workshop at COMSNETS 2013 focuses on all aspects (energy conservation, energy efficiency, energy distribution, alternate energy sources) related to energy consumption in communication systems, computing systems, distribution and associated cyber-physical systems.
Within this scope, this year E6 workshop will bring together academic and industrial researchers and practitioners from the government and industry that are already doing great work in the Energy domain. The objective this year will be to disseminate the new advancements in research to the practitioners and to provide the researchers with the best practices and challenges faced by the practitioners. In doing so, we hope to identify new research directions wherein the participants can forge new long-term collaborations that are mutually beneficial to both the communities.
Overall program will include a keynote talk, a session with talks from practitioners, a session with talks from researchers and a brainstorming session seeking to build collaborations. The organizers will also identify potential opportunities wherein teams built during the workshop can submit joint proposals for funding.
We also encourage those delivering the talks to bring along a poster giving an overview of their work. This will allow people to have longer discussions during the tea and lunch sessions on topics of mutual interest.
