SPECIAL COMSNETS-ACM SIGCOMM TRAVEL GRANTS

For COMSNETS 2013, SIGCOMM is supporting two types of grants each awarded to student authors of the best student papers where all the authors of the paper are from outside India.

  • 3 grants for student authors to attend COMSNETS'13 with an amount of $1,000 each. Also, COMSNETS will support another 3 grants for student authors.
  • 2 grants for student authors to attend SIGCOMM'13 with an amount of $2,500 each.

These awards are meant to encourage participation of student authors from outside India in COMSNETS 2013, and to enable students to travel to the COMSNETS 2013 conference.

The criteria for selection of the student authors will be as follows:

  1. The selection of the 8 grants resides with the committee comprising the Gen Co-Chairs, the TPC Co-Chairs and the Travel Grant Co-Chairs of COMSNETS 2013.
  2. Generally one student author from each of the eight best student papers from outside the Indian Subcontinent will be selected for the award. If no paper or fewer than eight papers are considered worthy of the award, then the committee, as specified in above bullet, will make the final determination. The committee may choose to provide travel grants to students who are non-authors or student co-authors of the best student papers chosen.
  3. A student paper will have to meet the following criterion: all the authors should concur that their paper qualifies for the student paper award, because the major contribution to the work was made by a student. As such, the "main author" of the paper should be a student at the time of the submission of the paper.

The ACM SIGCOMM-COMSNETS EXTERNAL Student paper awardees are required to attend the COMSNETS 2013 conference its entirety (all the days of the main conference). The award will be forfeited if this requirement is not met in full.
