Mobile India 2012 (http://comsnets.org/mobile_india.html)
is the one of the first premier conferences and will be the curtain raiser for Mobile Broadbandrevolution in the country. It is associated with The Fourth International Conference on COMmunication Systems NETworkS (COMSNETS) (http://www.comsnets.org), the world’s premier international conference on networking and communications technology innovation.
India, having witnessed the success of the mobile revolution in the last decade is at the “tipping point”, where innovations seem to have choked. Voice is commoditized. Operator ARPU has declined to its nadir. 3G is struggling to take-off. Mobile VAS has become a cliché. What do we expect this year - more of the same or something more exciting and eventful?
Mobile India 2012 will try to unravel the mysteries in the following four sessions.
Social networking platforms and the social web have created a “phenomenon” of some sort by connecting people immersively in ways which were never possible before.
Male or female; young or old; professional or layman – everyone is induced in to the social network fabric based on which firms such as Facebook and Twitter are thriving with increasing market caps.
There are groups of customers for every business in such social networks. Already many books have been written as to how to use Facebook and Twitter for improving business operations.
In this session, experts will delineate in detail how communities and customers can co-exist. How can your social web be leveraged to improve business opportunities? What is the potential business opportunity for mobile service providers, apps developers and content providers over these underlying social platforms?
The heydays of e-commerce are back again, especially in India. In the last 12-18 months, more than 1,000 digital businesses have been set up. With easy access, technology improvements, and proactive adoption, commerce using mobile devices are expected to drive digital business in the days to come. The main reason for the number of mobile apps growing so steadily is that major retailers, banks, news organizations, and other companies are increasingly getting into the game by building apps to take smartphone users to their sites to buy products, pay bills, or manage their accounts.
In this session, a panel of experts from various stakeholders of the mobile commerce eco system will try to answer this raging interest.
What are the news ways to conduct mobile commerce? What are the challenges and opportunities in the mobile commerce value chain? How is the ecosystem gearing up?
Communication devices are morphing every day to provide richer user experience - be it Tablets, Smartphones, audio infotainment systems. Smartphone usage is on the rise. At the same time, Networks are also evolving - 2G -> 3G -> 4G. In countries like India, the connectivity and devices are not uniform across the target population. Millions of applications do exist for mobile phones and every minute thousand are being added.
Is an enormous wealth of available apps really a good thing, or are consumers better off with a more limited selection? If you were buying a new car or TV and had tens of thousands of new models to choose from, could you really be sure you were getting the product that is right for you?
In this over-crowded apps market, can app developers demonstrated immersive and engaging experience for the customers and get them hooked up? Can applications/ services be designed so that they are interoperable across networks, devices and environment so that they can keep the target audience engaged and immersed, despite the varying conditions? What are the new frontiers in design/ devices/ technology/ applications/ services to provide this continuous compelling user experience?
Experts from various fields will try to dissect the above problem and find possible solutions.
In the concluding session of the day, a workshop for budding entrepreneurs will be conducted by a well-known Venture Capital investor who has presence and stake in the Mobile market.
