Accepted proposals for the COMSNETS 2015 PhD forum have been announced. Click here to see the list.
The Ph.D Forum will provide a friendly and supportive environment for doctoral students(in various stages of their Ph.D)to present and discuss their dissertation research both with their peers and experienced researchers from academia and industry. In addition to providing technical feedback and advice, this forum will provide an excellent opportunity for students to network as well as to practice presenting their research, clearly and concisely.
The topics of interest are the same as the main COMSNETS conference. See Call for Papers.
To be eligible to submit your work to the Ph.D forum for evaluation and presentation, you must be a Ph.D student (in any stage of your Ph.D). However, B.Tech/ Masters students considering doing a Ph.D in future, and junior Ph.D students yet to define their research area, are also strongly encouraged to attend the forum for inspiration and guidance.
Honest feedback on your Ph.D work: Whether you are in first year of Ph.D, struggling to define a concrete problem, or in your middle years fighting procrastination or in your final stages, worried about impressing your dissertation examiners, brainstorming can be of help at all stages. The submission will not be part of any proceeding.
Interaction with industrial researchers: Internships during early and middle years of Ph.D can broaden your outlook and technical skills. In the closing years, information on open positions can broaden your future job prospects. This venue will see a lot of participation from industrial researchers with great opportunities to interact.
There will be a waiver of registration fees for the main conference for the Ph.D forum presenters. Also the candidates are eligible to apply for travel grants.
There will be a best presenter award, based on judgement by a panel in the audience. The award will include a certificate and a cash prize.
