Dr Vijay Narayan Tiwari, MD, PhD is a Director at Samsung R&D Institute Bangalore, where he leads the Sensor Intelligence Research Team. He has vast experience in the field of academia and industry having expertise in both engineering and medicine fields. He is well familiar with research and industry ecosystems spanning across different countries (USA, Japan and India). His present area of focus include Sensor Algorithms, AI methods, UWB based Advanced Tech, Vision based Techs, IoT Solutions, Mobile and Wearable solutions related to Wellness/Fitness and Eye Health Monitoring using Camera etc. He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed articles on these topics along with a rich haul of 30+ international patents granted worldwide. He has also written book chapters in renowned books. Dr Vijay has received multiple awards from industry and academia in recognition of his work. Dr Vijay received Zinnov Award (2018), Nasscom AI Game Changer Award (2018), Nasscom Social Impact Award (2021) and Japanese Gov. MEXT Scholarship Award to name a few. He is a senior IEEE and MCI member. He is a reviewer for some of the most impactful journals in research field (NeuroImage and JNM)

Prof. Dipti Gupta

Dr. Dipti Gupta is working as a Professor at Metallurgical Engineering and Material science (MEMS) department, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), India. She received her B-Tech from IIT Kanpur and continued her M-Tech and Ph.D. degree in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering in the same institute. Later she worked as a BK-21 Postdoctoral Fellow at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Korea and as an EPSRC Research Associate at Imperial College, London, U.K.. She also spent two years with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Seoul National University, Korea as BK Assistant Professor. Her research interests are in the area of Flexible and Stretchable electronics, Wearable sensors for application in healthcare and energy applications. She is a recipient of the prestigious SERB Power Fellowship and also serves as Associate Editor of ACS Applied Electronic Materials. Currently, she is associated with Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) on IOT/IOE where she would be contributing towards Health-IOT, Sensors and Data Analysis. She is also associated with Center of Excellence in Nanoelectronics (CEN), IITB-Monash Research Academy (an initiative of IITB and Monash University), Wadhwani Research Center for Bioengineering (WRCB), National Center for Photovoltaic Research and Education (NCPRE), located at IIT Bombay, India. Her research activities are funded by competitive programs of Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, The Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF), Scientific and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Wadhwani foundation, Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), Tata Center for Technology and Design (TCTD) etc.

Independent Researcher

Dr. Peehu Pardeshi is an independent researcher. She holds a Ph.D. in Biosciences from IIT Bombay. She has transitioned from fundamental biology fields of microbiology and biochemistry to interdisciplinary fields of health, disasters and climate change. She has implemented public health research and response projects on topics ranging from tuberculosis and anemia to flood response and recovery. She has also taught life sciences at St. Xavier’s college, Mumbai. She was an Assistant Professor at the Jamsetji Tata School of Disaster studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai until recently. She taught courses on public health, ecosystems and habitat, introduction to disasters, hazards and risk as well as quantitative tools for data analysis. Her current research focuses on policy solutions to the health impacts of climate change in India.

Nitesh K. Jangir is an Engineer with experience that includes stints in defence, industrial automation, medical devices etc. Nitesh is a co-founder of InnAccel, a medical device company with a vision to prevent preventable deaths in the field of emergency and critical care. He was also a part of the Stanford India Biodesign Program where he developed and commercialized a device to safely tap pleural fluid in patients with pleural effusion. This technology (Thorashield) was licensed to a medical device manufacturing company. Nitesh is an active innovator and has filed and granted sixteen patents in the field of medical devices and artificial intelligence. Nitesh is a Commonwealth Innovation Award Winner, CES IFC Women Health Tech 2021 award, Forbes 30 Under 30 (India and Asia), Acumen India Fellow, a Leaders in Innovation Fellow-Royal Academy of Engineers UK, Top 20 of Impacthallmarks Impact Person of the decade 2010-20 and an INK Fellow.

Smitha Sasidharan Nair is an Assistant Professor in the Centre for Health and Mental Health, School of Social Work, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She has completed her Ph.D. from the Centre for Social Medicine and Community Health, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Her research interests include Gender, Health, and Social Movements.

Dr.Niranjan Joshi is presently the Programme Lead - Digital Health & Innovation Deployment at C-CAMP. His primary responsibility includes designing and managing new projects and programmes, liaising with start-ups, building new partnerships, and developing strategic initiatives in the two thematic areas of digital health and innovation deployment. He has more than 14 years of experience across the innovation value chain ranging from academic research, translational R&D, application identification, technology development, innovation adoption and health system integration, entrepreneurship, start-up acceleration, and ecosystem development. His decade long work in India has helped him develop deep insights into health-tech innovation for resource constrained settings. He is a Ph.D. from the University of Oxford, UK in the field of Medical Image Computing.

Call for Papers

NetHealth (Network Health) is a yearly workshop that offers all stakeholders in the healthcare system a platform to learn, share and connect. Every year, the NetHealth Workshop brings together a multi-disciplinary audience from across the healthcare spectrum to share their ideas and break the conventional silos that exist in this field. This year’s NetHealth will cover healthcare-specific topics like Novel Medical Devices, Implants & Instruments, Artificial Intelligence, Bio-entrepreneurship, Tele-medicine, 3D printing, and Investment & Incubation opportunities as well as groundbreaking academic research.

This day-long workshop is for those working within the sphere of healthcare, be it clinicians, students, engineers, designers, innovators, policymakers or regulators, industry experts or anyone else working in support of healthcare.

We invite research papers and position papers that present novel ideas for networked computing technology in support of healthcare, and which are likely to invoke thoughtful discussion at the workshop. Both academia and corporate contributions are highly welcome and encouraged.

Any healthcare related topic that includes technology or the potential application of technology for healthcare will be considered. Even clinical study preliminary data indicating utility and efficacy/safety of a MedTech product can be considered for submission.

Submission Guidelines

  • NetHealth invites submission of original work not previously published, or under review at another conference or journal.
  • Submissions (including title, author list, abstract, all figures, tables, and references) must be no greater than 6 pages in length.
  • Reviews will be single-blind: authors name and affiliation should be included in the submission.
  • Submissions must follow the formatting guidelines as given on IEEE Website; and those that do not meet the size and formatting requirements will not be reviewed.
  • All papers must be in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) and submitted through the NetHealth Workshop submission site on EDAS.
  • All workshop papers will appear in conference proceedings and be submitted to IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases.
