Panel Discussion

Ghar se Charcha: Work Paradigm in Pandemic Era – Impact on Men & Women

Abstract: For some it might be a blessing in disguise and for some it might be a curse – Welcome to the new normal; Work from Home (WFH) is here to stay for long time. This panel invites the audience to participate in this interesting discussion on how the WFH perspective changes from three different work cultures – Private Industry, Academics and Public Sector Units. While on one extreme the IT industry enjoys a kind of permanent WFH on the other extreme we have the PSUs who hardly got WFH option and then we have the academia who were following the middle path of going to college campuses ON/OFF on requirement basis. Let us bring all these workforces together and prepare a checklist wherein we can have a convergence on where we stand from each of these perspectives. Are we moving into an uncertain future or towards a secure and pollution free world? The audience get to hear from the achievers and experienced engineers from all the three sectors about the difficulties and ease, challenges and support and other ups and downs in the latest work paradigm.

The topics to be covered by panel will be:

  • What will be the anticipated future and which technologies will become irrelevant and which ones will pick up pace?
  • What are the gaps which should be addressed on immediate basis? Is the Indian scenario different from global? If yes then on what counts?
  • Do we have facilities and infrastructure to allow us to work efficiently in current work paradigm? Tools you used during work from home. Project tracking and progress – methodologies followed.
  • Job scenarios and Internships : Job scenario in current work paradigm – will it increase or decrease job opportunities? Share your view about providing "Online internship" by industry experts and academic professors to students. Many students are panicked as they are unable to get internships/projects.
  • Finally as the topic suggests let us discuss on how this work paradigm has affected men and women. Difficulties and challenges faced by women in current work paradigm. WFH is challenge or advantage for men?
  • Many more...
