NetHealth Workshop

Theme: Networking Humanitarian Technology for Healthcare
Network Health is a yearly conference that offers all stakeholders in the healthcare system a platform to learn, share and connect. Every year, the NetHealth Workshop brings together a multi-disciplinary audience from across the healthcare spectrum to share their ideas and break the conventional silos that exist in this field.
Net Health is centred around people and technology that are changing the face of healthcare. This year’s NetHealth will cover healthcare specific topics like Artificial Intelligence, Bio-entrepreneurship, Tele-medicine, 3D printing, and Investment & Incubation opportunities as well as groundbreaking academic research.
This day-long workshop is for those working within the sphere of healthcare, be it clinicians, students, engineers, designers, innovators, policymakers or regulators, industry experts or anyone else working in support of healthcare.

Speakers
He received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has been with Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY since 1976, where he is currently a Distinguished Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Director of CASE: Center for Advanced Systems and Engineering. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Radiology at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. His current research interests are in distributed sensor networks and data fusion, detection and estimation theory, wireless communications, physical layer security, image processing, and radar. He has published extensively. He is the author of Distributed Detection and Data Fusion, published by Springer-Verlag in 1997. He is a member of Tau Beta Pi and is the recipient of the 1981 ASEE Dow Outstanding Young Faculty Award. He was elected to the grade of Fellow of the IEEE in 1997 for his contributions in the area of distributed detection and data fusion. In 2000, he received the Third Millennium Medal from the IEEE and Chancellor’s Citation for exceptional academic achievement at Syracuse University. He is the recipient of the IEEE 2012 Judith A. Resnik Award. He received an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree from Drexel University in 2014, Distinguished ECE Alumni Award from UIUC in 2015 and the Yaakov Bar-Shalom Award for Lifetime Excellence in Information Fusion from ISIF in 2018. He is on the editorial board of Journal on Advances in Information Fusion. He was the President of International Society of Information Fusion during 2001.
David Kotz is the Champion International Professor in the Department of Computer Science. He previously served as Interim Provost, as Associate Dean of the Faculty for the Sciences, as the Executive Director of the Institute for Security Technology Studies, and on the US Healthcare IT Policy Committee. His research interests include security and privacy, pervasive computing for healthcare, and wireless networks. He has published over 175 refereed journal and conference papers and obtained over $66m in grant funding. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, a Distinguished Member of the ACM, a 2008 Fulbright Fellow to India, and an elected member of Phi Beta Kappa. After receiving his A.B. in Computer Science and Physics from Dartmouth in 1986, he completed his Ph.D in Computer Science from Duke University in 1991 and returned to Dartmouth to join the faculty.
The Young Professional meetup is for members and volunteers of the IEEE Bangalore Section working in Healthcare Technology and Humanitarian Technology. The emphasis is on providing members with an opportunity to expand their personal and professional network. This meet-up is organized in conjunction with COMSNETS - NETHEALTH 2019 workshop..
Submission Guidelines
- Submissions must be no greater than 6 pages in length including all figures, tables, and references and must be a PDF file. A minimum number of 3 pages are required.
- All papers must be electronically submitted via the NetHealth Workshop submission site on EDAS. https://edas.info/N25116
- Reviews will be single-blind: Authors name and affiliation should be included in the submission.
- Submissions must follow the formatting guidelines as given on IEEE Website.
- Authors of accepted papers are expected to register and present their papers at the workshop.
- Submissions must be original work not under review at any other workshop, conference, or journal.
