Fellowships & Awards

COMSNETS is a premier international conference dedicated to advances in Networking and Communications Systems and related current areas. In the 13 years since the inception of the conference, it has grown to be a highly reputed conference in India backed by IEEE ComSoc, ACM SIGMOBILE and ACM SIGCOMM. The conference is supported by MeitY and DoT, Government of India and several organizations, academic institutions such as IISc Bangalore, IITs and IIITs. The conference attracts world renowned experts from India and across the globe as Keynote and Invited speakers.

COMSNETS Fellowships

For the last 5 years, the conference has been supporting students and faculty members who have a paper in reputed international conferences. COMSNETS is now adding another feather in its cap. Ph.D. students who have completed the normal duration of their scholarship and are in need of scholarship for completing their final phase of the thesis can apply for this fellowship.

Eligibility

The eligible candidates are either not receiving any scholarship amount or are receiving reduced scholarship will be eligible for the COMSNETS Fellowship grant for INR Rs. 50,000/- per student per quarter. COMSNETS would provide 10 fellowships each year starting from last quarter 2020.

Application Process

Applicants must submit the request for COMSNETS Fellowship through their supervisor. The selection would be strictly based upon merit. A committee comprising of members of the COMSNETS Association would be empowered to select the candidates. COMSNETS Best Ph.D. Thesis Award

From 2021, COMSNETS would be awarding best Ph.D. thesis in the country. There would be up to two such awards each year. The award carries a cash prize of USD $1000 or INR Rs. 75,000/-.

Application Process

All applications for the best Ph.D. thesis award should be routed through the supervisor and would need detailed justification.The submitted application should include a nomination letter justifying why the thesis should receive the award and a copy of the thesis in electronic format. Theses submitted after October 2020 will only be considered for the awards during COMSNETS 2022.

A committee comprising of members of the COMSNETS Association would be empowered to select the candidates. Applications should be submitted to Mrs. Chandrika Sridhar, IISc Bangalore ([email protected]).
