The 8th workshop on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) will be held in conjunction with COMSNETS 2022. This workshop aims to bring together researchers from various disciplines and will focus particularly on interdisciplinary approaches to solving transportation problems. The workshop invites original papers that make contributions to the modeling, control and analysis of transportation systems. We welcome papers involving any combination of theory, analytical modeling and optimization, numerical simulations, real-world data-driven approaches, experimentation, advanced deployment and case studies. Studies involving economic, behavioral and environmental aspects are equally welcome.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Autonomous and Connected (V2X) vehicles
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in ITS
  • Naturalistic driving datasets and data analytics
  • Human factors and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) in ITS
  • Behavioral science applications and techniques for ITS
  • Security, privacy and safety of systems
  • Advanced mobility alternatives, e.g. E-Mobility, air mobility, shared mobility etc.
  • ITS field tests, deployments and experimentation
  • Traffic theory for ITS
  • Emergencies and accidents: phenomena, management and mitigation
  • Testing and certification of autonomous and ML-based transportation systems
  • Modeling, detection and avoidance of vulnerable road users and animals
  • Public policy, and regulatory and societal issues in ITS
  • Logistics and Transportation demand management
  • Multi-modal and public transportation management
  • COVID-19 and its impact on transportation system

Submission Guidelines

  • The ITS Workshop invites submission of original work, not previously published, or under review at another conference or journal.
  • Submissions (including title, author list, abstract, all figures, tables and references) should not exceed 6 pages in length.
  • Reviews will be single-blind: authors name and affiliation should be included in the submission.
  • Submissions must follow the formatting guidelines as given on IEEE Website; and those that do not meet the size and formatting requirements will not be reviewed.
  • All papers must be in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) and submitted through the ITS Workshop submission site on EDAS.
  • All workshop papers will appear in conference proceedings, and be submitted to IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases.
