To better serve the student community, COMSNETS 2016 is introducing Mentoring Sessions that give students an opportunity to interact one-on-one with eminent researchers in the field of communication systems and networks. This new element of the COMSNETS program enables the students to get feedback on their current research results and future research plans. All graduate-student attendees of COMSNETS 2016, i.e., students enrolled in a doctoral or Master’s program, are encouraged to apply.
Mentors
Eminent researchers in the field of communication systems and networks will be participating in these sessions. Students get to interact one-on-one with Keynote speakers, Invited Speakers, senior Organizing Committee members etc.

Mentoring Process
Each student gets 40 minutes for a one-on-one session with the assigned mentor. The initial 15 minutes of the slot are designated for the student to explain the research results and plans to the mentor. While the research topic is expected to be in broad areas related to computer networking, the maturity level of the research work is flexible, from a nascent research idea to fully mature results. For good clarity of explanation, the student is encouraged to present the work with PowerPoint slides.
The remaining 25 minutes of the slot are intended for a discussion with the mentor. The mentor uses the discussion period to give candid constructive feedback on the student’s current research and suggest improvements for future work.
